Green Hills offers military software enhancements for network centric warfare

SAN JOSE, Calif., 14 April 2009. Green Hills Software Inc. in Santa Barbara, Calif., is adding secure virtualization and reference platforms to the company's Platform for Secure Networking to enhance military software development for network centric warfare and other secure networking applications.

Green Hills is enabling a Linux operating system to coexist securely and seamlessly with the performance, reliability-critical, and real-time portions of networking devices on one general-purpose microprocessor to help bring mission critical software to networked battlefield.

Green Hills made the announcement at the Embedded Systems Conference Silicon Valley 2009 conference and trade show in San Jose, Calif.

System availability is increased by eliminating the possibility for a non-critical application failure or corruption in the Linux environment to compromise the critical real-time packet traffic applications and services running on the Integrity real time operating system (RTOS), which assures high availability and secure isolation between networking subsystems.
