TORRANCE, Calif., 23 March 2011. Martek Power in Torrance, Calif., is introducing conduction-cooled Powertron JL series of open-frame rugged DC-DC converters for railway and other harsh-environment applications where the power supply is mounted inside a sealed enclosure. The JL DC-DC converters are rated at as much as 50 Watts, comply to EN50155, and have the ability to accept the wide range of typical railway input voltages.

All power electronics converters in the JL series are designed for continuous operation at ambient temperatures as high as 75 degrees Celsius without de-rating. Outputs can be specified between 5 and 110 volts DC, and efficiencies approach 90 percent. The units measure 135 by 85 millimeters, including the mounting plate.
