ORLANDO, Fla., 14 June 2011. Simulations at the National Flight Academy's (NFA) will be driven by Prepar3D visual simulation software from Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) Global Training and Logistics.

The NFA addresses the issues related to declining science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) skills and standards in the U.S. by providing immersive high-tech experiences that merge classroom math and science basics with hands-on aviation training. Prepar3D uses immersive gaming technology for training, experiential learning as well as decision and performance support for non-government, government, and commercial organizations.
For NFA, Lockheed Martin is donating copies of Prepar3D, that are upgradable as new product versions get launched. The company also donated more than $2 million to the NFA.
Prepar3D evolved from the Microsoft ESP Flight Simulator product line and is compatible with add-on software created for the Microsoft product.
