Sukhoi to launch business jet version of SuperJet 100

PARIS AIR SHOW BLOG, 22 June 2011. Officials at Sukhoi Civil Aircraft and Alenia Aeronautica, announced this week at the Paris Air Show that the new business jet model of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 regional line will kick off its run at the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) show in October. Anything regarding the Superjet creates a lot of buzz, such as when the Superjet 100 was doing its fly over this week at the show.

I think this is a sign of returning health to the industry -- when new airplanes get introduced that is. Of course this will be introduced at the business avaiton show, but still new aircraft announcements in the commercial and business world are being made, which is an improvement over two years ago.
Passenger traffic worldwide is up so airframers are seeing new demand from the operators, and the new Superjet business model should do well if market trends continue.
The new jet will be developed by SuperJet International -- a joint venture of LENIA Aeronautica and Sukhoi Holding.
