Hughes provides HX System for airborne satellite communications, supports mission-critical operations by U.S. government agency

GERMANTOWN, Md., 9 Nov. 2011. Hughes Network Systems LLC, provider of broadband satellite systems and services, will provide satellite communications for a government agency’s airborne solution for in-flight intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), including air segment, ground segment, and network management services. The Hughes airborne solution includes the advanced HX System, including the HX satellite Gateway, HX 200 satellite router, and Expert Network Management System (ExpertNMS), which provides advanced diagnostics and network monitoring capabilities.

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to provide airborne intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance for the U.S. government,” says Rick Lober, vice president and general manager of Hughes Defense and Intelligence Systems Division. “Our HX System is ideal for airborne systems as it has the capability to transfer video, audio, and data in real time.”
