3U VPX single-board computer based on Xilinx FPGAs for SIGINT and communications introduced by Acromag

Acromag in Wixom, Mich., is introducing the VPX-VLX series 3U VPX field-programmable gate array (FPGA) single-board computers with configurable Xilinx Virtex-5 FPGA, as well as several high-speed memory buffers and a high-throughput PCI Express interface for signals intelligence, image processing, hardware simulation, and communications applications. I/O interfaces to the FPGA are through the rear P2 connector and via optional front mezzanine plug-in I/O modules. Three models help users choose among logic-optimized FPGAs. Cards are available with either Xilinx VLX85T, VLX110T, or VLX155T FPGA, and each board product is air- or conduction-cooled, and operate in temperatures from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius.

Rugged CompactPCI Serial Ethernet switch for mobile communications introduced by MEN Micro

MEN Micro Inc. in Ambler, Pa., is introducing the rugged G301 CompactPCI Serial Ethernet switch for mobile communications applications in harsh operating conditions. The board complies with the PICMG CompactPCI Serial standard, and has four Gigabit Ethernet ports via RJ45 or M12 connectors in the front. A fifth Gigabit Port is optional, and could be accessible at the back with the J6 connector.

WIXOM, Mich., 31 March 2011. Acromag Inc. in Wixom, Mich., is introducing the VPX4810 3U VPX carrier cards for interfacing PCI Mezzanine Cards (PMCs) or Express Mezzanine Cards (XMCs) to VPX embedded computing systems in high-performance military, industrial, scientific research, and telephony applications that require high-speed I/O. The carrier cards are available in air-cooled versions that operate in temperatures from 0 to 70 degrees Celsius, or in conduction-cooled and REDI models.

Embraer selects SCADE ARINC 661 solutions from Esterel for cockpit display development

Avionics suite -- Pro Line 21 from Rockwell Collins used in S-61 helicopter display upgrade

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa, 11 March 2011. A Sikorsky S-61 long-range helicopter is now using a new Pro Line 21 integrated display system (IDS) from Rockwell Collins. Vector Aerospace in Toronto worked with Rockwell Collins on the avionics retrofit, which is the first time Pro Line 21 has been used on a helicopter.

3U VPX CPU board and PMC/XMC carrier card for military, avionics, and communications introduced by Aitech

CHATSWORTH, Calif., 11 March 2011. Aitech Defense Systems Inc. in Chatsworth, Calif., is introducing the C870 3U VPX single-board computer based on the Intel Core i7 processor extreme-data-throughput applications in high-definition avionics displays, mission and controls systems computers, network-centric communications, and condition-based maintenance. The C870 CPU board has a Core i7 dual-core processor that runs at 2.53 GHz for high performance, 2 GHz for low-power, or at 1.33 GHz for ultra-low power. The embedded computing product has an Intel Gen 5.75 graphics controller.
