BittWare Inc. in Concord, N.H., is introducing a numeric co-processor for field programmable gate array (FPGA)-based embedded computing systems that require complex or changing processing algorithms, such as radar processing, signals intelligence, and software-defined radio. The BittWare FPGA co-processor, called Anemone, is a floating point processing engine that is programmable in the C computer language. The Anemone chip, which is designed to function with FPGAs from Altera Corp. in San Jose, Calif., has processors that together provide 32 billion floating point operations per second while consuming two Watts power.

BOHEMIA, N.Y., 2 May 2011. Data Device Corp. (DDC) in Bohemia, N.Y., is introducing an avionics test system that connects to a standard USB 2.0 port to help support avionics designers in testing, simulation, and analysis. The BU-67211UX combines as many as two dual redundant MIL-STD-1553 channels with as many as eight user programmable receive-or-transmit ARINC 429 channels, and as many as two user programmable receive-or-transmit ARINC 717 channels.

GE Intelligent Platforms in Charlottesville, Va., is introducing the ADEPT3000 small automatic miniature video tracker for embedded computing applications such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and man-portable devices where size, weight, and power consumption (SWaP) are primary design concerns. GE demonstrated the device this past week at the SPIE Defense, Security, and Sensing conference in Orlando, Fla. Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing is introducing the FMC-516 rugged field-programmable gate array (FPGA) mezzanine card for military applications such as signals intelligence (SIGINT), electronic countermeasures (ECM) and radar that need high-speed A/D converter components as part of a digital receiver. The FMC is a quad channel 250-megasample-per-second 16-bit analog input card that enables systems designers to couple I/O devices directly to a host FPGA to make the most of throughput and synchronizes several channels and boards.

They found their solution from Honeywell Aerospace in Clearwater, Fla. Boeing is providing the Honeywell ring laser gyros under terms of a $10.6 million contract announced Friday.
